New Delhi (VNA) – National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen ThiKim Ngan sent sincere wishes from the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) to theCommunist Party of India (CPI) while meeting with CPI General SecretarySudhakar Reddy in New Delhi on December 10.

She said the CPI has remained steadfast in theMarxism-Leninism and continued to join the Communist Party of India (Marxist)and left-wing and other progressive forces in protecting rights and interestsof the poor, ethnics, the working class and labourers in India.

She voiced her belief that under the leadershipof General Secretary Sudhakar Reddy, the CPI will successfully realise theresolution of its 22nd congress and substantially help to build a peaceful,independent and progressive India with a deserving stature in the region andthe world.

The CPV is working hard to implement theresolution of its 12th national congress, Ngan said, noting that aside frommajor accomplishments during three decades of reforms, the CPV has alsoreceived many lessons and experience. It will press ahead with tacklingdifficulties and shortcomings and devising measures to clean up itself so as toensure a pure and strong Party.

Briefing her host on the outcomes of her talksand meetings with India’s parliamentary leaders and Prime Minister, sheexpressed her delight at flourishing relations between the two countries,asking the CPI to continue supporting bilateral ties.

The relationship between the CPV and the CPI isclose-knit connections based on fundamental principles of the Marxism andLeninism, as well as common targets and ideals. Their strong ties havecontinually strengthened in recent years, she noted.

Appreciating the CPI’s support to the IndianGovernment’s policy of boosting multifaceted links with Vietnam, the Chairwomanhighlighted the two Parties’ recent delegation exchanges which helped enhancetheir relations, along with the unity and effectiveness of internationalcommunist and workers’ movements.

For his part, Sudhakar Reddy laudedVietnam’s socio-economic attainments, reiterating that the CPI, other politicalparties, and the Indian Government follow a consistent policy of boosting cooperationwith Vietnam.

He pledged that his Party will exert all effortsto intensify the friendship between the two Parties and peoples, therebydeveloping Indian-Vietnamese relations in line with the spirit of thecomprehensive strategic partnership.

The same day, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan also met with President of theIndian National Congress party Sonia Gandhi.

She asserted that the CPV places importance to cementing and developing itsties with the Indian National Congress party and highly values its constructivecontributions to the multi-dimensional cooperation between the two countries.

She expected that with its broad influence, the Indian National Congress partyand other political parties in India continue backing the promotion of cooperationbetween India and Vietnam.-VNA

Vietnam, Cambodia step up defence cooperation

Brazilian President begins state visit to Vietnam
