Hanoi (VNA) - PhilippinePresident Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos on November 2 declared disaster status of four areasaffected by storm Nalgae.

According to the President, Calabarzon, BicolRegion, Western Visayas, and the southern autonomous region of Bangsamoro willbe established the level of disaster status in six months.

Over the weekend, these areas had more than1.4 million people affected by storm Nalgae.

President Marcos clarified that this resolutionwould promote the aid work, recovery and reconstruction of the government and private organisations and control prices of essential goods.

Disaster declarations of other regions willbe considered, President Marcos added.

Nalgae was the 16th storm to have hit the Philippines this year,causing landslides, floods, and about 132 deaths by November 1./.
