Phu Yen (VNA) – The Xuan Tho 1 and Xuan Tho 2 solar power plants wereinaugurated in Song Cau town in the south-central province of Phu Yen on June27.

Construction on thetwo plants started in January on a total area of 120ha in Xuan Tho 1 and XuanTho 2 communes by Phu Khanh Solar Power Joint Stock Company. Each plant has acapacity of 49.6MW and an estimated output of 76.2 million kWh of electricity ayear.

Speaking at theinauguration ceremony, the company’s General Director Tran Minh Tien said that thecommissioning of the two plants contributes to adding more renewable energy tothe national grid, solving the power shortage problem in the dry season, andgenerating jobs for around 100 locals.
