Davos (VNA) – PrimeMinister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has affirmed that Vietnam always welcomesinternational media to the country to cover its development and globalintegration.

Meeting the foreign media on the sidelinesof the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2017 in Davos,Switzerland on January 18 (local time), the PM spoke on the Vietnamesegovernment’s determination to build a transparent and constructive cabinet inservice of the people and businesses. 

Asked about Vietnam’s policies oninvestment attraction and ties with important partners, Phuc said Vietnamboasts a vibrant economy with an annual growth of 6 percent-plus over the pastnearly three decades. The country is considered an attractive destination forforeign investors, having attracted total committed capital of more than 300billion USD in over 22,000 foreign-invested projects.

The PM reiterated that Vietnamalways endeavours to develop an open and transparent business environment,making it easier for foreign enterprises to do business in the country, addingthat Vietnam attaches importance to social welfare in tandem with economicgrowth, social progress and justice and environment protection.

He also highlighted Vietnam’sadvantages including a 55-million workforce and 60 percent of the populationaged below 35.

On the occasion, he invited theinternational media to cover activities of the Asia-Pacific EconomicCooperation (APEC) Year hosted by Vietnam this year in Vietnam, contributing topopularising Vietnam and its people to the world.-VNA
