PM meets representatives of socio-political, mass organisations

Had it not been for the cohesion among the Party, State and people, there wouldn’t have been development achievements as seen in the recent past, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said while meeting with representatives of socio-political and mass organisations in Hanoi on January 17.

Hanoi (VNA) – Had it not been for the cohesionamong the Party, State and people, there wouldn’t have been developmentachievements as seen in the recent past, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc saidwhile meeting with representatives of socio-political and mass organisations inHanoi on January 17.

A report at the meeting noted that over therecent years, the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), socio-political and massorganisations have actively given counseling to Party committees andadministrations to increase direct contact and dialogue with their members andpeople of different strata. Leaders of the Government, provinces and citieshave had regular meetings with workers, farmers, women and young people tolisten to and better realise their aspirations. 

At the meeting, PM Phuc stressed the importanceof mass mobilisation and the representation of people’s rights and legitimateaspirations, noting that VFF committees at all levels and socio-political andmass organisations, which are the Party and State’s representatives in themasses, have daily contacts with the people.

Pointing out certain shortcomings in the massmobilisation work, he said the solidarity and unanimity among the Party, Stateand people will create the power.

He asked the organisations to reform theiractivities, increase meetings with the people to further understand them, anddeal with existing shortcomings and weaknesses.

They also need to continue disseminatingpolicies and laws; better perform their role as a bridge linking the Party,State and people to create consensus in the society to help carry outsocio-economic tasks successfully; and encourage Vietnamese people both at homeand abroad, including intellectuals and entrepreneurs, to join hands indeveloping the nation, the PM added./.
