PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc receives Japanese LDP Secretary General

Hanoi (VNA) – During his trip to Japan to attend the coronationceremony of Emperor Naruhito, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received ToshihiroNikai, Secretary General of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) of Japanand Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance (JVPA).

At the event, he congratulated Japan for successfully organising the coronationceremony, and believed that the country will continue reaping furtherachievement in building a prosperous nation under the Reiwa era.

PM Phuc laid a stress on the sound Vietnam-Japan extensive strategicpartnership which has been developed in various sectors such as economy, trade,investment, and labour, among others.

Nikai, for his part, spoke highly of the results in the bilateral cooperativeties, particularly in parliamentary exchange, collaboration at the local level,and people-to-people exchange.

Both sides agreed to boost trade and investment cooperation in the time ahead,increase the exchange of delegations at all levels, boost cooperation at thelocal level, and enhance mutual understanding so as to make the relations ofcooperation and friendship more practical and effective.

At a reception for representatives of the Vietnamese intellectuals in Japan, PMPhuc expressed his delight at the development of the Vietnamese community inthe host nation, and called the Vietnamese nationals to promote their role inconnecting youths, businesses and peoples of both nations, contributing todeepening the bilateral ties.

Professor Tran Van Tho, Chairman of the Vietnamese people association in Japan,affirmed that the Vietnamese community always works to promote solidarity, andstands ready to contribute more to the national development as well as theVietnam-Japan relations./.

NA Standing Committee's key work agenda for 2026 approved

A major focus will be preparations for the election of deputies to the 16th NA and to People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term. The NASC will coordinate with the National Election Council, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and relevant agencies and organisations to continue implementing the election plan, organise oversight of the electoral process, and carry out its duties and powers as prescribed.
