- Current amendments to the Capital Law should adopt an innovative and long-term approach, providing a strong legal framework for Hanoi to fully leverage its unique potential, pilot new models, and try new approaches, while ensuring discipline, transparency, and the public interest, Party General Secretary To Lam has stated.
The Party chief made the requirement at a working session with the Standing Board of the Hanoi Party Committee on January 10 to discuss a proposal for a master plan with a 100-year vision for the capital city, institutional reforms, a projected socio-economic development model, and double-digit growth target. - The Ministry of Public Security staged a send-off ceremony and rehearsal in Hanoi on January 10, deploying around 5,000 policemen to finalise security preparations for the forthcoming 14th National Party Congress.
In his speech, standing member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and head of the subcommittee for the organisation of the Congress Tran Cam Tu said with only 10 days remaining until the opening, security requirements have reached their highest level. He noted that amid rapidly evolving, complex and unpredictable global and regional developments, hostile forces continue to exploit these conditions and intensify sabotage activities using increasingly sophisticated and complex methods. - A ceremony was held on January 9 to inaugurate the Mártires de Tarará Primary School in Ben Tre Village, Bauta district, Artemisa province, a facility built with financial support from Vietnam’s Ben Tre province.
Addressing the event, a representative of the local authorities said the school stands as another vivid symbol of the strong and lasting ties between Cuba and Vietnam, two nations that consistently prioritise education for younger generations in pursuit of a brighter future and the well-being of their people. - Leaders of German political parties have expressed strong interest in and admiration for Vietnam’s development achievements and the upcoming 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), during meetings with Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Nguyen Dac Thanh.
Thanh on January 9 met with Patrik Köbele, Chairman of the German Communist Party (DKP); and Wulf Gallert, Co-chair of the International Commission of left party Die Linke. - Authorities in Lam Dong province have recently released hundreds of wild animals back into their natural habitats, reflecting a positive shift in public awareness and stronger community engagement in wildlife protection.
Recently, the Ta Dung National Park Management Board, in coordination with relevant agencies, has released four wild animals, including three long-tailed macaques (scientifically known as Macaca fascicularis) and one pig-tailed macaque (Macaca leonina), into the forest. All animals were examined and confirmed to be healthy and capable of surviving in the wild before their release, and they quickly adapted to their natural surroundings./. Read full story
