
Hanoi (VNA)– Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc paid visits to Laos’ former Party and Stateleader on April 27 as part of his two-day official visit to the neighbouringcountry.
At the meeting withformer Party chief and President of Laos Khamtay Siphandone, PM Phuc hailed hisgreat dedication to the Lao revolutionary cause and the Vietnam-Laos special relations.
The PM wished the Laoformer Party chief good health and extended warm greetings from Party GeneralSecretary Nguyen Phu Trong and other Vietnamese senior leaders to him.
Phuc hoped thatSiphandone would continue sharing his experience to further promote the twonations’ special relations and educate their young generations on the bilateralfriendship.
Visiting GeneralSisavath Keobounphanh, former Prime Minister and President of the Lao Front forNational Construction, PM Phuc spoke highly of the general’s contribution to theLao revolution and the two countries’ ties.
The PM affirmed thatleaders of both nations will pass down the tradition of their older generationsand work hard to nurture the Vietnam-Laos relations.
Speaking at themeeting with Lao former Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong, the Vietnamese PMsaid Thammavong has greatly contributed to the comprehensive cooperationbetween Vietnam and Laos, particularly the success of the Vietnam-LaosCooperation Agreement for the 2011-2015 period.
Also the day, PM Phuc and his entourage laid a wreath at the unknown fallenmartyrs’ monument in Vientiane.-VNA
