Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secretary To Lam attended a programme in Hanoi on November 15 evening to honour role models nationwide who have distinguished themselves in the campaign to study and follow the thought, morality and lifestyle of President Ho Chi Minh.
The event, the sixth of its kind, took place at a time when the entire Party, army and people are striving for excellence in their study, work and creativity in celebration of the upcoming Party congresses at all levels in the lead-up to the 14th National Party Congress.
In his speech, Lam expressed profound gratitude for the immense contributions of great President Ho Chi Minh, underscoring the pressing need to continue learning and following his teachings at a new level. This will generate a powerful momentum, enabling the country to step firmly into a new era - the era of development and prosperity as envisioned by the late leader.
He called on Party committees and authorities at all levels, especially leaders, to build on the past achievements and develop specific plans and set examples in this campaign. By doing so, they can inspire and guide the nation in upholding the values and principles that Ho Chi Minh embodied.
The Party chief requested studying and following Uncle Ho’s thought, morality and style to contribute to building an ethical and civilised Party, adding that each Party member must be a loyal servant of the people.
The entire Party, people and army, regardless of circumstances, must steadfastly adhere to the goal of national independence associated with socialism, he said.
Lam urged all Vietnamese people to constantly consolidate and promote the strength of the great national unity bloc under the leadership of the Party, combined with the strength of the times, successfully implement the strategic goals to mark the 100th year under the leadership of the Party and 100th founding anniversary of the country.
He said that the year 2025 will witness many important historical events of the country, Party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress and 40 years of Doi moi (renewal) with great achievements.
The Party chief emphasised that with a new position, accumulated strength, new opportunities, Vietnam is standing at the door of history to firmly step into a new era, the era of the nation’s rise.
He believed that under the Party’s leadership, together with the national pride, the spread of outstanding models in studying and following Uncle Ho’s thought, morality and style will be more intensive and extensive, promoting the will and heroic spirit of Vietnam.
At the event, Party General Secretary To Lam and Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Information and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia presented Certificates and Emblems to honour 25 typically outstanding models nationwide in studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and style. They are outstanding cadres, Party members, soldiers, doctors, intellectuals, religious dignitaries, ethnic minorities, workers, farmers, and groups with effective models and methods in following President Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and style.
On this occasion, the Party Central Committee's Commission for Information and Education officially launched a database on studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and style./.
