Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on June 19 sent his sympathy to Chinese Premier Li Keqiang over the human and property losses in China caused by recent major natural disasters.
In his message, the Vietnamese PM expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Chinese Government, people in the affected areas will quickly overcome consequences of the disasters, restore their production and stabilise their lives.
China’s southern localities were hit by downpours and floods while an earthquake struck the south western province of Sichuan on June 17.
Dozens of people have been killed and 356,000 had to evacuate from their homes as heavy rain and floods have swept through large parts of southern China, from Guangdong province in the southeast to southwest China’s Chongqing on the upper reaches of the Yangtze river.
Meanwhile, the quakes in Sichuan’s Yibin city have left 13 people dead, 199 others injured and more than 140,000 residents affected.-VNA
