Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung commended the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMYU) for its important contributions to the nation’s socio-economic achievements in 2009 and first months of 2010.

The PM had a working session with the HCMYU Central Committee’s Secretariat on the outcomes of the union’s activities and a movement that encourages young people to take part in promoting socio-economic development in Hanoi on June 2.

He affirmed that when the country was in difficulties, young people have voluntarily contributed to addressing these problems and enthusiastically participated in practical movements to promote the nation’s socio-economic development, defend the country, and generate jobs for themselves.

Agreeing with the HCMYU’s key tasks and youth and vanguard movements in 2010, PM Dung reminded the HCMYU Secretariat to focus more on helping the youths study and create new job training models and more jobs for them.

He also asked the youth union to pay special attention to raise the youths’ awareness of politics, an ideal concept of how to live usefully, and abiding by the law.

The HCMYU’s activities should be designed fitting the youths so they can make more contributions to the nation, PM Dung concluded./.
