Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh willlead a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam to attend theCommemorative Summit for the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship andCooperation and have bilateral activities in Japan from December 15-18.
The trip will be made at the invitation of Japanese PrimeMinister Kishida Fumio, according to an announcement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on December 13./.
The Congress discussed and approved the number of the members of 14th Party Central Committee, consisting of 180 official and 20 alternate members.
The congratulatory letters and messages reflect high appreciation for Vietnam’s historic achievements over 40 years of the Doi moi (Renewal) process, while expressing confidence that the Congress’s strategic decisions will continue to steer the country toward prosperity and happiness.
Minister-Counsellor Nguyen Hoang Nguyen, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the UN, reaffirmed Vietnam’s strong commitment to multilateralism and to the UN’s central role in maintaining international peace and security.
Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi emphasised that in order to achieve fast development in the coming period, including double-digit growth, foreign affairs must play a proactive role in mobilising external resources while internal strength remains the decisive factor.

Since joining ASEAN in 1995, Vietnam has undergone a remarkable transformation to become an indispensable link in the global supply chain by investing heavily in export-oriented industries and maintaining robust social stability.
