Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said he wants Vietnam and Malaysia to seek measures to boost bilateral trade during his reception for Malaysian Minister for International Trade and Industry Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamad in Hanoi on December 9.
The PM hoped the two countries soon complete and implement the Vietnam-Malaysia Action Programme for 2017-2019 to implement specific cooperation in economy, trade, and investment.
He appreciated Malaysia’s cooperation projects in Vietnam, which he said not only benefit enterprises of both sides but also contribute to Vietnam’s socio-economic development.
The PM affirmed the Vietnamese government will reform administrative procedures to create the best possible conditions for investors, including Malaysian investors, and said potential for cooperation between the two countries remains big.
Minister Mustapa Mohamad agreed that Vietnam has many opportunities for investment and business, adding that many business joint ventures between Malaysia and Vietnam are operative effectively.
He said he is being accompanied by 40 business representatives who came to explore opportunities for investment.
The Minister said governmental agencies of both countries should closely monitor bilateral agreements to ensure they are implemented on schedule.-VNA
President asks for specific measures for trade target with Malaysia
Vietnam and Malaysia should work out specific, practical measures to achieve their trade target of 15 billion USD by 2020, President Tran Dai Quang has said.
