PhnomPenh (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Vu Quang Minh, asentrusted by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, presented more than 700 gifts toVietnamese and Cambodian families in difficult circumstances in Kampong Chhnangand Kampong Thom provinces, Cambodia, on February 4, ahead of the Lunar NewYear (Tet) festival.

Speakingat the event, Ambassador Minh conveyed PM Phuc’s greetings to the Vietnamesecommunity in the two provinces.

ThePM hopes that the Vietnamese in Cambodia will continue to stabilise their life,help each other overcome difficulties, abide by local law, and integrate intothe host society, the diplomat said.

Arepresentative of the local authority highly valued the attention and care theCommunist Party of Vietnam, State and people of Vietnam have given to the needyVietnamese and Cambodian people, saying it demonstrated solidarity andclose-knit relations between the two nations.

Onthis occasion, Ambassador Minh visited a number of Vietnamese families in KampongChhnang province. He also had a working session with the local authority duringwhich he asked them to create conditions for the Vietnamese in the locality tolead a stable life, contributing to local economic development.

Locatednext to Tonle Sap Lake of Cambodia, Kampong Chhnang and Kompong Thom are hometo many Vietnamese, who are mainly fishermen, retailers and manual labourers. -VNA

Education-training sector preparing for strategic turning point: Minister

Reviewing the sector’s performance in the past five years, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son said the scale of the national education system continued to expand across all levels, with more than 24.5 million learners nationwide. Ho Chi Minh City steps up law enforcement on fishing vessel monitoring system

Ho Chi Minh City has 4,449 fishing vessels, of them 4,301 equipped with VMS devices, making up 96.67%. Between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2025, authorities found 1,729 cases of vessels losing VMS connection for six hours or more, issuing fines in 196 cases totalling nearly 6.6 billion VND (about 252,000 USD)

Japan Coast Guard patrol vessel pays courtesy visit to Da Nang
