Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong has praised police for their great efforts in the fight against economic crimes in order to protect business circles amidst global integration.

Trong stated so at an online conference with police from 63 cities and provinces across the country on June 9 to review 12 years of implementing the national programme against crimes and three years’ executing 10 commitments made to the business circles in the global economic integration.

He, however, warned that the fight against crimes, especially trade frauds and corruption, would be very complicated ahead. He urged police to take initiative in working with other ministries, agencies and enterprises to closely follow socio-economic developments and crime elements so as to fight crimes effectively.

The Ministry of Public Security reported that over the past 12 years police have detected almost 71,000 offenders of economic crimes and over 152,000 relevant cases, including 17,733 cases of corruption and property misuse.

Police have also actively helped enterprises protect their trademarks and intellectual property as well as control fake and unhygienic foods making./.
