Hanoi (VNA) – The National Political Publishing House (NPPH) was awarded the Labour Hero title for its outstanding achievements at a ceremony in Hanoi on December 5 with the presence of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

NPPH Acting Director and Editor-in-Chief Hoang Phong Ha said that on the day 70 years ago, the Su that (Truth) Publishing House – the forerunner of the NPPH – was established by Party General Secretary Truong Chinh.

After seven decades of construction and growth, the publishing house has overcome all difficulties and successfully fulfilled its assigned tasks. As a body of the Party Central Committee, it has served as the Party’s and State’s core publisher of political, law and Ho Chi Minh thought books.

The NPPH has contributed to popularising Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought, the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws, affirmed Ha.

Speaking at the event, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan asked the NPPH to continue compiling and publishing legal and political books suitable to each group of readers, especially students.

It was also requested to renovate its operations in order to increase the publishing efficiency and increasing the issuance of publications rejecting allegations against Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought.-VNA
