Huong explained that a household can consist of one personwho lives and eats on his/her own or a group of people who live and eat together.For households with two or more people, household members may or may not berelated by blood, marriage, or adoption, and may or may not have a commonincome and expenditure funds.
According to the GSO, the census aims to collect informationon population and housing as a basis for assessing the implementation of thesocioeconomic development plan for the 2021-2025 period. The data will help design policies,planning population and housing, and monitoring the implementation of the UN sustainabledevelopment goals.

Personal information will be kept confidential in line with the law, according tothe GSO, underlining that data are for statistical purposes only, and notrelated to issues of permanent residence, temporary residence, tax collectionand are not used for other purposes.
Results of the census will be announced within November and December thisyear./.
