Between 1965 and 1967, American bombs were dropped relentlessly on Ha Nam province, especially its capital city of Phu Ly.
Lam Ha was one of the fiercest battlefields not only in Ha Nam, but also in Vietnam at the moments. The commune of Phu Ly city was considered as the second “Dong Loc Junction” in Vietnam.
During the struggle to defend this area, a platoon of young female soldiers, aged just 17 to 20, sacrificed their lives to protect their hometown.
The legend of these girls has endured for over half a century, yet their story remains relatively unknown. Therefore, restoring their photos carries significant meaning in the peaceful time.
The restored photos were donated to the Vietnamese Women’s Museum on the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Fallen Soldiers’ Day (July 27, 1947 - 2024)./.
