New Delhi (VNA) – Minister of Information andCommunications Truong Minh Tuan has highlighted that Vietnam always welcomesand creates all favourable conditions for Indian firms to join programmes andprojects on information technology in Vietnam.

He made the statement during his talks with Indian Ministerof Communications and Information Technology Manoj Sinha in New Delhi on March27 as part of his visit to India.

Minister Tuan noted that the Vietnam-Indian relationship hasbeen growing in all fields and has become deeper since the two sides lift uptheir ties to comprehensive strategic partnership in 2016, with stronger cooperationin information and communication technology (ICT).

Since Vietnam started its reform 30 years ago, Indian ICTfirms have invested in Vietnam, including large businesses like APTECH and NIIT,he said.

Indian enterprises are strong in capital, technology and internationaltrade experience, thus they will continue grasping more success in Vietnam,held the minister.

Over the past years, the communication sector of Vietnam hasenjoyed rapid and sustainable growth, significantly contributing to thecountry’s socio-economic development, said Tuan who also briefed his host onthe post andtelecommunication development in Vietnam as well as bilateralaffiliation in the field.

He asserted that Vietnam and India has high potential to promotepartnership through increasing exchanges of information and experiences at alllevels, thus implementing their cooperation activities in a sustainable andeffective manner.

He lauded India’s credit package of 1 billion USD for digitalconnectivity projects in ASEAN member countries, including Vietnam, while expressinghis hope to learn more India’s experience in designing policies and legalregulations in management of post and telecommunication, 4G and 5G services aswell as public and rural communications, and digital connectivity.

He affirmed that the two sides will continue discussing thepublishing of a joint stamp collection to mark the 45th anniversary ofVietnam-Indian diplomatic relations, while increasing delegation exchange.

For his part, Sinha stated that the Indian Government has focusedon programmes in connecting people, especially those in rural areas, whilestanding ready to share its experience with Vietnam.

He expressed his delight at the publishing of a joint stampcollection between the two countries, affirming his country’s interest infurther boosting bilateral cooperation in post and telecommunication.

He said he hopes his talks with his Vietnamese counterpartas well as meeting of the both sides’ businesses will create changes for thetwo countries to bolster their ties, especially in post and telecommunications.

Earlier, the two ministers attend the opening of a business workshopon Vietnam-India digital technology connectivity projects, during whichparticipants discussed the potential and opportunities of cooperation in areasof shared interest.-VNA
