More than 57,000 people have been evacuated from the surround of Agung volcano on the Indonesian tourist island of Bali on September 26.

– More than 57,000people have been evacuated from the surround of Agung volcano on the Indonesiantourist island of Bali on September 26.

It is estimated that about 62,000 people livingin the dangerous areas need to be evacuated.

The Center for Volcanology and Geological HazardMitigation (PVMBG) has raised the warning alert to level 4 (the maximum) andasked people to stay at least 9km from Mount Agung.

There has been an increase in volcanic tremorsat the mount with a total of 564 recorded on September 25.

More than 1,000 people died when Mount Agunglast erupted in 1963.-VNA
