Vietnam continues to be one of the countries with the highest number of detected online infections, according to Kaspersky Security Network data.

HCM City (VNS/VNA) - Vietnamcontinues to be one of the countries with the highest number of detected onlineinfections, according to Kaspersky Security Network data.

The cybersecuritythreat landscape has become more sophisticated in the age of digitalrevolution. Vietnam is significantly affected by complicated and rapid changesof cybersecurity amid the rise of Industry 4.0.

According to a report from Kaspersky Lab, the country ranked firstby percentage in the top 20 countries with ICS (Internet connectionsharing) computers attacked in thefirst half of last year.  

Moreover, based on real-time detections, it was among the threemost infected countries last year.

Kaspersky, aglobal cybersecurity company, has underlined the need for public and privatecooperation to build a resilient cybersecurity defense for the country, and hasvowed to provide its expertise and holistic solutions to reinforce thegovernment’s commendable and consistent steps to safeguard the nation againstdamaging online attacks.

Yeo SiangTiong, general manager at Kaspersky Lab Southeast Asia, said: “As society todaydepends more on information and communications technologies, cyberthreats willclearly continue to proliferate and evolve. We at Kaspersky Lab believe thatincreased cooperation to protect cyberspace is now more crucial than ever.

“Instead ofdividing ourselves and relying on our own capacity to combat cybercriminals, wecan give them a tougher time by creating a united front of online defense. Weare also fully aware that this trust must be repeatedly earned through anongoing commitment to transparency and accountability and we are more thangrateful for Vietnam’s willingness to work with us in protecting the countryagainst cybercrimes.”

Last year, thecompany signed a memorandum of understanding with the Vietnam GovernmentInformation Security Committee (VGISC), the Authority of Information Security(AIS) and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) to address informationsecurity challenges in the country and to help the Government build the nation’scybersecurity capability.

This year, itis looking forward to implementing more advanced cybersecurity solutions andservices to improve protection of users’ information and data fromattackers.-VNS/VNA
