Additional 1,112 COVID-19 cases reported during July 12 morning

An additional 1,112 cases of COVID-19, including seven imported ones, were confirmed in the six hours to 12:30 pm July 12, raising the national tally to 31,590, according to the Health Ministry.

Hanoi (VNA) - Anadditional 1,112 cases of COVID-19, including seven imported ones, were confirmedin the six hours to 12:30 pm July 12, raising the national tally to 31,590,according to the Health Ministry.

Ho Chi Minh City still accounted for the largest number of newly-detected caseswith 879, followed by Dong Nai with 82, Tien Giang with 49, Dong Thap with 38,Hanoi 26, Phu Yen 9. Seven each were detected in Bac Giang and Hung Yen, threein Tay Ninh, two in Bac Lieu, and one each in Binh Phuoc, Soc Trang and VinhPhuc. Of the number, 998 cases were detected in quarantine facilities or areasunder lockdown.

As of 12:30 pm, Vietnam counted 29,656 domestically-infected cases and 1,934imported ones. The number of recoveries was 9,275.

Among active patients, 339 have tested negative for the coronavirus once, 130twice and 70 thrice.

The death toll rose to 123 with four more deaths related to COVID-19announced by health authorities on July 12 morning.

Thecountry launched a nationwide vaccination drive, the largest ever immunizationcampaign, on July 10, with the goal of inoculating more than 70 percent of thepopulation by the end of the first quarter 2022. The MoH said people aged 18and over can register for COVID-19 vaccinations through the COVID-19immunization portal./.
