Young cyclist wins silver at Asian cycling champs

Young cyclist Pham Duc Tam brought home a silver medal in the men's under 23 individual time trial event at the Asian Cycling Championships in New Delhi, India on March 15.
Young cyclist Pham Duc Tam brought home a silver medal in the men'sunder 23 individual time trial event at the Asian Cycling Championshipsin New Delhi, India on March 15.

Tam, who competes forVinh Long Television ADC, defeated strong rivals from Kazakhstan, theRepublic of Korea, Japan and China to take the silver medal.

He completed the 28.4km stage with a time of 34 minutes and 37 seconds and an average speed of 49.22km per hour.

Kazakhstan's Daniil Fominykh took the gold medal, while Jaeyeon Im of the RoK won bronze.

After the Asian tournament which will last until March 17, Vietnam's cycling team will join the Tour of Thailand in early April.-VNA
