Young pianist shines with first prize at Fujairah international competition

Vietnam's Nguyen Duc Kien has claimed first prize at the 6th Fujairah International Piano Competition, a prestigious event held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Hanoi (VNA) - Young Vietnamese pianist Nguyen Duc Kien has claimed first prize at the 6th Fujairah International Piano Competition, a prestigious event held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Hosted by the Fujairah Fine Arts Academy, the competition is a renowned global stage for young pianists to showcase their talent and engage in cultural exchange.

In the latest edition, held in late January 2025, Vietnam sent five contestants competing across four categories. The delegation delivered an outstanding performance, securing three awards: one first prize, one third prize, and one consolation prize, placing Vietnam among the top-performing countries at the event.

Kien’s victory was particularly remarkable as he outshone 24 skilled competitors from over 10 countries, including Russia, China, France, and the US.

Prior to this triumph, Kien had already built a reputation with multiple accolades at national and international piano competitions./.
