President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday celebrated in HCM City

(Photo: VNA)HCM City (VNA) - A ceremony was held by the Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on May 15 to mark the 130th birthday of late President Ho Chi Minh (May 19).
In his remarks, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan recalled President Ho Chi Minh’s life and revolutionary cause, which, he said, has given younger generations the strength and mettle to overcome all difficulties and challenges.
His thoughts, bright moral example, and lifestyle will forever be an invaluable asset of the Vietnamese Party, army, and people, and a light leading the nation to new victories and a bright future, Nhan stressed.
Named after the late President, HCM City has made great efforts to become a major centre of economics, culture, education and training, and science and technology, an engine of the national economy, and a gateway for international integration, he went on.
On this occasion the city honoured 149 collectives and 233 individuals for outstanding performance in studying and following the President’s thoughts, morality, and lifestyle in the 2019-2020 period.
Nhan called for more such role models to build Vietnam into a modern industrialised country with a high-income status./.
