President Sang starts visit to Hungary

President Truong Tan Sang arrived in Budapest, Hungary, on September 15 at the start of his three-day State visit to the country at the invitation of President Ader Janos.

President Sang was welcomed at Liszt Ferenc airport by Laszlo Szoke, head of the Presidential Office’s External Relations Department, Eszter Torda, Hungarian Ambassador to Vietnam and Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Ngo Duy Ngo.

During his first day in the central European country, President Sang met with staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of Vietnamese community in Hungary.

Since Vietnam and Hungary set up diplomatic ties in 1950, the central European nation has helped trained thousands of Vietnamese students among that nearly 4,000 Vietnamese people are currently working in all fields of Hungary. President Sang expressed his pleasure with Vietnamese community’s contributions to Hungarian socio-economic development.

The President also urged the Vietnamese Embassy staff to promote their role as a bridge to connect and strengthen the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

On September 16, President Sang is scheduled to participate in many meetings with Hungarian leaders including talks with his counterpart President Janos, meetings with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Speaker of Parliament Laszlo Kover.-VNA
