The Special Envoy of Cuban President Alejandro Castro Espin has conveyed to President Truong Tan Sang an invitation to visit Cuba from Cuban leaders to discuss orientations and measures to enhance the efficiency of bilateral ties.
President Truong Tan Sang hosted a reception for the Special Envoy in Hanoi on June 30, where he took the occasion to affirm the determination of the Vietnamese Party, State and people to work closely with their Cuban counterparts to further strengthen the comprehensive cooperation between the two nations.
The President expressed his joy of the growth of Vietnam-Cuba relations in recent time, saying that the two sides should enhance their links in trade, investment, sci-technology, culture, and education-training in the coming time.
He also spoke highly of the results of working sessions between the Special Envoy, who is also Secretary of Cuba’s National Security and Defence Commission , and Vietnamese ministries and sectors during their visit to Vietnam.
For his part, Alejandro Castro Espin, who is on a working visit to Vietnam from June 28-July 3, said h is visit aims to deepen the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties and States and people.
He also praised Vietnam for its achievements of renewal progress, as well as the country’s experience in national construction and defence, stressing that these are very useful for his country to learn from.
During their stay, the Cuban guests worked with representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defence, Public Security and the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Popularisation and Education.-VNA
