Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung hosted Lieutenant General Suvon Luongbunmi, Chief-of-the-General Staff of the Lao People's Army and Deputy Minister of Lao Defence Ministry, in Hanoi on October 19.
The PM said Lieut. Gen. Luongbunmi’s visit contributed practically to promoting the friendship between the two countries in general and their armies in particular.
Highlighting the Laos-Vietnam traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation, the leader stressed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always treasure and make maximum effort to deepen the ties for mutual benefit and development.
He also appreciated the cooperation between the two General Staff Departments and the two armies in general, affirming that the Vietnamese Government will create possible conditions for their collaboration.
For his part, Lieut. Gen. Luongbunmi said the delegation’s visit aims to deepen cooperation and mutual understanding between the two armies.
He affirmed the Lao army will actively and effectively implement cooperation agreements in order to preserve the traditional relationship between Laos and Vietnam.-VNA
