Projects winning Qualcomm Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2021 announced

Qualcomm Technologies Inc., a subsidiary of the US multinational corporation Qualcomm, on September 29 announced three winners at the final round of the Qualcomm Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2021.

HCM City (VNA) - Qualcomm Technologies Inc., a subsidiary of the US multinational corporation Qualcomm, on September 29 announcedthree winners at the final round of the Qualcomm Vietnam Innovation Challenge2021 with prizes worth 225,000 USD in total.

Rostek project wonthe first prize. With its autonomousguided vehicle (AGV) and vehicle management system, Rostek provides adigital and hi-tech solution for transporting goods in factories and warehouses.

The second prizewent to the AIOZ BeetleBot project with its indoor delivery robot, which uses artificial intelligence(AI) and voice interface to deliver items such as food or packages in an indoor environment. BeetleBotis suitable for hospitals, and supports delivery in thecontext of social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

BusMap project of PhenikaaMaaS Technology JSC got the third prize. Its AI-integrated camera system called bHuballows users to monitor safety factors when driving through an image recognitiondevice, thus assuring the safety for both drivers and passengers amidst the uncertainties of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Accordingto Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Van Tung, Vietnam has been entering a new era of 5G, AI, cloud computing and diverse applications of IoTtechnology.

The ministry encourages start-up communities to continue to show off theirlightning-fast innovation ability for Vietnam, he said.

Launchedin 2019, the Qualcomm Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2021 aims to incubateinnovative startups in new technology fields. It encourages enterprises tocreate new products in key technology areas using Qualcomm Technologies'technologies and mobile platforms.

Alex Rogers,President of Qualcomm TechnologyLicensing (QTL) and Global Affairs, said that the programme was launchedto encourage startups show their strength and creativity, thus further promotingdevelopment of Vietnam's startup ecosystem.
