Police in the central province of Quang Nam have announced clemency for 10 prisoners thanks to their redemption progress.
Police in the central province of Quang Nam have announced clemency for 10 prisoners thanks to their redemption progress.

The move comes on the occasion of the upcoming anniversary ofLiberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification Day (April 30)and May Day.

Of the pardoned prisoners, three arefreed ahead of their release dates while the others received 2-5 monthsentence reductions. Most have served more than two-thirds of theirterms.

The clemency not only reflects thegovernment’s leniency policy, but also encourages prisoners to reform sothat they can return to society sooner.-VNA
