Quang Nam: Top investment official suspended

The People’s Committee of central Quang Nam province has temporarily suspended Le Phuoc Hoai Bao from his post as Director of the provincial Department of Planning and Investment, according to Chief of the committee’s Office Nguyen Hong Quang.

Quang Nam (VNA) – The People’s Committee ofcentral Quang Nam province has temporarily suspended Le Phuoc Hoai Bao from hispost as Director of the provincial Department of Planning and Investment,according to Chief of the committee’s Office Nguyen Hong Quang.

The suspension was requested by the Inspection Commissionof the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, the Party’s top watchdog.

An investigation conducted by the Commission found thatBao had been dishonest about past working experience in his personal dossierand CV when he was nominated for a seat in the provincial Party Committee forthe 2015-2020 period.

The Commission concluded that Bao had poor sense of disciplineand violated the Party’s regulations for not taking part in any Party’sactivities for many months during his time studying abroad.

The Commission also ordered the provincial PartyCommittee’s Standing Board to instruct relevant agencies to abolish Bao’s Partymembership and invalidate wrong appointment decisions related to Bao, andconduct criticism and mete out disciplinary measures on the Party AffairsCommittee of Quang Nam People’s Committee and related units and individuals.

Deputy Director of the Department of Planning andInvestment Nguyen Hoang Thanh was appointed to temporarily take charge of thedepartment until a decision is issued for Bao.-VNA

19 localities eradicate substandard houses

Vietnam accelerates repatriation of citizens detained in Myanmar

On April 8, 28, and May 14, three groups comprising a total of 471 citizens safely returned to Vietnam. This marked an important initial success, paving the way for additional repatriation efforts later this month, with the goal of bringing all remaining Vietnamese citizens stranded in Myawaddy, Myanmar, back home as soon as possible.
