The central province of Quang Tri plans to organise a conference this weekend to call for investment in its key socio-economic development projects in the 2016-2020 period.

Quang Tri (VNA) – The central province of Quang Tri plans to organise a conference this weekend to call for investment in its key socio-economic development projects in the 2016-2020 period.

The conference will be held on April 17, said Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Huu Dung at a press conference on April 12.

During the conference, the locality will introduce the local potentials and incentives for investors in 17 projects across processing, energy, leather footwear, and the development of the East West economic corridor, seaports, golf courses, and tourism.

Among them is the construction of the 1,350MW Hai Lang gas-fueled power plant, which will be carried out under Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) or Build-Own-Operate (BOO) methods with an estimated total investment of 1.5 billion USD.

Other key projects include the construction of hotels and resorts along the Cua Tung – Cua Viet beach with a total investment reaching 110 million USD, and a shopping centre, golf course and the Truong Son tourism service complex at 50 million USD.

Numerous incentives and policies will be offered to facilitate investors’operation, Dung said.

A hotline will be launched facilitating a direct connection to the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Dung added.

Deputy Director General of the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) Tran Phuong said the bank will offer a loan of 15 trillion VND (675 million USD) to support the implementation of the local socio-economic development plan and its key projects in the next five years.

During the conference, the province will also sign financing agreements on 21 projects with a total investment exceeding 10.4 trillion VND (469.4 million USD).

Four of the projects will be funded by BIDV, worth more than 4.15 trillion VND (186.6 million USD).-VNA
