Hanoi (VNA) - The railway sector will operate dozens more trains to serve growing travel demand during the Hung Kings Festival, which will fall on April 13-15.
Under the plan, the Hanoi Railway Transport Joint-stock Company will run eight extra trains on the Hanoi–Ho Chi Minh City route with a total of about 5,200 more seats.
The company will have two more trains from the capital city of Hanoi to Vinh city in central Nghe An province and one more train from Hanoi to Dong Hoi city in central Quang Binh province on April 12.
One extra train from Hanoi to central Thanh Hoa province will be arranged on the next day. On April 15, there will be one additional train from Dong Hoi city to Hanoi, two from Vinh to Hanoi and one from Thanh Hoa city to Hanoi.
The company will maintain its usual 12 trains per day along the routes of Hanoi–Lao Cai, Hanoi–Hai Phong, Hanoi–Dong Dang, Hanoi–Quan Trieu and Yen Vien–Ha Long. All of the trains have the maximum number of carriages, equal to about 10,000 seats.
In the meantime, the Sai Gon Railway Transport Joint-stock Company will have eight extra trains along the HCM City–Nha Trang route during the festival.-VNA
