Reference exchange rate continues to go up on October 19

The State Bank of Vietnam continued to adjust the daily reference exchange rate up on October 19, setting the rate at 22,719 VND per USD, an increase of 2 VND from the previous day.

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam continued to adjust the daily reference exchange rate up on October 19, setting the rate at 22,719 VND per USD, an increase of 2 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of  +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,400 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,037 VND/USD.

The opening hour rates at commercial banks stayed stable.

Both Vietcombank and BIDV kept their rates unchanged from October 18, listing the buying rate at 23,295 VND/USD, and the selling rate at 23,385 VND/USD.

Techcombank also maintained the same rates as on the previous day at 23,275 VND/USD (buying) and 23,385 VND/USD (selling).

The reference exchange rate was on a downward trend since the beginning of this week (October 15) before going up on October 18.-VNA
