Reference exchange rate goes up on October 18

The State Bank of Vietnam adjusted the daily reference exchange rate up on October 18, setting the rate at 22,717 VND per USD, an increase of 2 VND from the previous day.

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam adjusted the daily reference exchange rate up on October 18, setting the rate at 22,717 VND per USD, an increase of 2 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of  +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,398 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,035 VND/USD.

The opening hour rates at commercial banks also increased from the previous day.

Both Vietcombank and BIDV kept the buying rate unchanged from October 17 at 23,295 VND/USD, and raised the selling rate by 10 VND to 23,385 VND/USD.

Techcombank kept the buying rate unchanged from the previous day at 23,275 VND/USD but added 5 VND to the selling rate, listing the rate at 23,385 VND/USD.

The reference exchange rate was on a downward trend since the beginning of this week (October 15) before going up on October 18.-VNA
