Reference exchange rate goes up on October 12

The State Bank of Vietnam adjusted the daily reference exchange rate up on October 12, setting the rate at 22,721 VND/USD, an increase of 2 VND from the previous day (October 11).

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam adjusted the daily reference exchange rate up on October 12, setting the rate at 22,721 VND/USD, an increase of 2 VND from the previous day (October 11).

 With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,402 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,040 VND/USD.

The opening hour rates at commercial banks saw only slight changes compared to October 11.

Vietcombank added 5 VND to both rates, listing the buying rate at 23,305 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,385 VND/USD.

BIDV kept both rates unchanged at 23,300 VND/USD (buying) and 23,380 VND/USD (selling).

Techcombank also maintained the same rates as on October 11, buying the green back at 23,280 VND/USD and selling at 23,380 VND/USD.

  The reference exchange rate rose on the first two days of this week beginning October 8, then went down for two consecutive days before rising again on the last day of the week.-VNA
