Reference exchange rate up 1 VND on October 8

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate on October 8 at 22,721 VND/USD, up 1 VND from the last day of previous week (October 5).

Hanoi (VNA) - TheState Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate on October 8 at22,721 VND/USD, up 1 VND from the last day of previous week (October 5).

With the current trading band of  +/- 3 percent,the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,402 VND/USDand the floor rate 22,040 VND/USD.

The opening hour rates atcommercial banks stayed stable compared to October 5.

Both  Vietcombank and BIDV kept both rates unchangedfrom October 5, listing the buying rate at 23,310 VND/USD and the selling rateat 23,390 VND/USD.

Techcombank also maintained thesame rates as on October 5, at 23,290 VND/USD (buying) and 23,390 VND/USD(selling).

Last week (from October 1-5), thereference exchange rate was unchanged on the first day of the week, but was adjustedup for three consecutive following days before stopping on Friday.

The rates listed at commercial banks droppedon the first day of the week, stayed stable for the next two days but rose onthe last two days.-VNA
