Reference exchange rate down 16 VND on week’s beginning

The daily reference exchange rate on July 23 continued the downward trend from the end of last week, going down 16 VND from July 20 to 22,644 VND/USD.

Hanoi (VNA) – The daily reference exchange rate on July 23 continued the downward trend from the end of last week, going down 16 VND from July 20 to 22,644 VND/USD.
With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,323 VND/USD and the floor rate 21,965 VND/USD.

The opening hour rates at commercial banks saw slight changes from July 20.  

Vietcombank raised both rates by 5 VND, listing the buying rate at 23,020 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,090 VND/USD.

Techcombank added 5 VND to the buying rate, listing it at 23,000 VND while the selling rate was kept unchanged at 23,095 VND/USD.

Meanwhile, BIDV maintained both rates at the same levels as on July 20, at 23,015 VND/USD (buying) and 23,085 VND/USD (selling).

Last week the trend of the reference exchange rate was mixed. It was adjusted up on Monday, then down on Tuesday before going up again for the next two days. On the last day of the week (July 20), it went down.-VNA
