Reference exchange rate down 21 VND

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,175 VND/USD on December 10, down 21 VND from the previous day.

Hanoi (VNA) – The StateBank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,175 VND/USD on December10, down 21 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading bandof /-3 percent, the ceiling rate applicable to commercial banks during the dayis 23,870 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,479 VND/USD.

The opening-hour rates atcommercial banks saw strong fluctuations.

At 8:35 am, Vietcombank listedthe buying rate at 22,830 VND/USD, down 41 VND from December 9, and the sellingrate at 23,100 VND/USD, down 75 VND.

Meanwhile, BIDV raised bothrates by 50 VND to 22,860 VND/USD (buying) and 23,100 VND/USD  (selling).

During the week from December6-10, the daily reference exchange rate followed an upward trend for the firstthree days before turning around to drop on the last two days. It ended theweek up 10 VND./.
