Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam adjusted the daily reference exchange rate on September 28 down another 1 VND to 22,714 VND/USD.
With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,395 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,032 VND/USD.
The opening hour rates at commercial banks saw little change compared to September 27.
BIDV kept its rates unchanged for the second day, listing the buying rate at 23,310 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,390 VND/USD.
Vietcombank reduced both rates by 5 VND, listing the buying rate at 23,305 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,385 VND/USD
Meanwhile, Techcombank slashed the buying rate by 5 VND to 23,285 VND/USD and kept the selling rate unchanged at 23,390 VND/USD.
The reference exchange rate opened the week down 3 VND from the rate on the last day of previous week (September 21) to 22,709 VND/USD. It was adjusted up on the next two days before down again on the last two days of the week, ending the week at 22,714 VND/USD.
The rates at commercial banks mostly on the rising trend during the week, with the increases taping off towards the end of the week. -VNA
