Reference exchange rate up 10 VND on October 16

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,187 VND/USD on October 16, up 10 VND from the previous day.

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,187 VND/USD on October 16, up 10 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 25,396 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,978 VND/USD.

At major commercial banks, the opening hour rates saw mixed fluctuations.

At 8:15am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 24,760 VND/USD and the selling rate at 25,120 VND/USD, both up 95 VND from October 15.

BIDV also raised both rates by 100 VND, posting the buying rate at 24,760 VND/USD and the selling rate at 25,120 VND/USD./.
