Reference exchange rate up 12 VND
The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollars at 23,097 VND/USD on January 18, up 12 VND from the previous day.
Illustrative image (Source: VNA)With the current trading band of +/-3, the ceiling rate applicable to commercial banks during the day is 23,790 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,404 VND/USD.
The opening-hour rates at commercial banks saw fluctuations.
At 8:40am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 22,540 VND/USD and the selling rate at 22,850 VND/USD, both down 10 VND from January 17.
Meanwhile, BIDV raised both rates by 10 VND to 22,580 VND/USD (buying) and 22,860 VND/USD (selling)./.
