Front leader visits flood-hit Lam Dong province

President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai urged intensified monitoring of high-risk areas, proactive evacuation, provision of medical supplies, and prevention of post-flood disease outbreaks in Lam Dong province.

Lam Dong works hard on fishing vessel registration, inspection

As of October 23, 7,255 out of 8,398 fishing vessels measuring six metres or longer in Lam Dong province still hold valid fishing licences. Meanwhile, 3,212 out of 3,957 vessels remain validly registered. In addition, 311 fishing boats have been proposed by local authorities for deregistration.

Lam Dong mobilises over 218 billion VND to eliminate substandard houses

Looking ahead, Lam Dong will continue to mobilise resources through the provincial “For the Poor” Fund, socialised contributions from corporations, businesses, philanthropists, organisations and individuals to provide housing support for poor and near-poor households and those in difficult circumstances, helping them stabilise their lives.

Street culture month highlights Lam Dong’s tourism

A “Street culture month” programme, themed “Lam Dong - convergence of essence, connection of emotions,” kicked off in Phan Thiet ward on September 6 as a highlight of the “Tourist Destination Experience Month 2025,” organised by the Lam Dong provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Lam Dong tightens control over coastal fishing vessels

Currently, 100% of fishing vessels 15 metres in length or more operating in Lam Dong are equipped with VMS devices. However, instances of lost VMS connection at sea still occur. Between January and July, local coastal border guard stations conducted 563 communication sessions for 31,089 fishermen engaged in offshore fishing, focusing on groups and sectors with higher risks of fishing violations.

Lam Dong steps up crackdown on IUU fishing

All the 1,992 vessels measuring 15 metres or longer – those required to install tracking devices – have done so, reaching a 100% compliance rate, according to the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment.
