Regional medical association holds mid-tenure meeting

The 15th Executive Committee of the Medical Association of Southeast Asian Nations (MASEAN) convened its mid-tenure meeting in the northern province of Quang Ninh on April 26.
The 15th Executive Committee of the Medical Association of SoutheastAsian Nations (MASEAN) convened its mid-tenure meeting in thenorthern province of Quang Ninh on April 26.

Atthe meeting, delegates from 10 ASEAN member countries delivered theirreports with a focus on medical ethics and professionalism.

They also shared experience in maintaining and promoting the sense ofprofessional ethics of health workers, as well as in improving theirprofessional skills to meet the rising demand of health care of people.

Prof. Ronnachai Kongsakon, President of the ThailandMedical Association, stressed that patients are the top priority, whileprofessionalism is an important factor of the medical practice.Therefore, he said medical ethics and professionalism must be combinedin order to give the best treatment to patients.-VNA

Brain-dead organ donor helps save six lives

Within 24 hours, the process of receiving the donated liver, two kidneys, two corneas, and skin to conducte transplantation for six patients was completed. The last surgery ended at 8:00 pm on May 3.
