A ceremony to re-bury the remains of 345 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who died on battlefields in Cambodia during the wartime was held at the Doc Ba Dac cemetery in Tinh Bien district, southern An Giang province, on July 21.

The remains were found by search teams from An Giang province at Kam Pot, Kompong Speau, Kandal, Takeo and Koh Kong provinces in Cambodia and repatriated from February to June of 2009. Of the remains, only 14 have been identified.

As from 2001, the search teams have conducted more than 20,000 digs in 130 communes in Cambodia ’s 20 provinces and found the remains of more than 1,000 volunteer soldiers to re-bury at the Do Ba Dac cemetery or cemeteries in their homeland./.
