Remote sensing photo exhibition makes debut

Speaking at theopening, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Viet Thanh saidthe event is an example of the results of cooperative activities betweenASEAN and Europe in scientific study and technology.

Thanh said he hopes the event will contribute to raising awareness ofthe community on ecological and environmental issues.

The 30 high resolution satellite photos on display depict ecosystemsin several areas in Europe and Southeast Asia such as the DanubeRiver, the land bordering the Mediterranean Sea, Ha Long Bay ofVietnam, tropical forests in Southeast Asia and the Mekong River .

Jointly organised by the National Department ofScience and Technology under the Ministry of Science and Technology(MoST), the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) and the German AcademicExchange Service (DAAD), the exhibition run until May 20.-VNA
