A wild elephant that was discovered in a trap two weeks ago in Yok Don National Park was released back into the jungle on May 22, park managers have announced.
Director of Central Highlands Dak Lak province’s Elephant Conservation Centre Huynh Trung Luan said the animal had recovered from all of its injuries after receiving treatment.
The male elephant, weighing about 700 kilos, suffered injuries to its trunk and feet after being caught in a poacher’s trap on May 7.
It took the park’s rescue workers seven days to release the animal so that it could be treated.-VNA
