The Republic of Korea wishes to further cooperate with Vietnam in economic development in the future.
The statement was made by the RoK Minister of Knowledge Economy Choi Joong-Kyung, during his meeting with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in Hanoi on Oct. 19.
Speaking at the meeting, Phuc expressed his joy at the fine development in cooperative ties between Vietnam and the RoK, while the two countries are moving towards the 20 th anniversary of Vietnam-RoK diplomatic relations in 2012.
He affirmed the strong potential for economic cooperation between the two countries, saying they should promote further cooperation in this field in order to adjust the trade balance and fully tap strengths of the two countries.
The Deputy Prime Minister spoke highly of major cooperative fields agreed by the two sides, including trade, supporting industry, establishment of a technology training centre, resources training for industry and atomic power use for peaceful purposes.
Choi Joong-Kyung said numerous RoK enterprises have recently arrived in Vietnam to seek business opportunities, on the occasion of the 13 th Meeting of the Vietnam-RoK Economic Cooperation Committee in Hanoi .
The Vietnam-based RoK businesses also hosted workshops to review and assess recent cooperative results between businesses of the two countries. This proved that RoK enterprises are very interested in developing their business in Vietnam , Choi said./.
