The Chung-Soo Scholarship Foundation of the Republic of Korea (RoK) has handed over 20,000 USD in scholarship aid to the Study Encouragement Societies of the northern province of Phu Tho and the central province of Nghe An.
The money will be granted to disadvantaged pupils and students in the two localities to help them overcome difficulties in their study and life.
Speaking at the hand over ceremony at in Hanoi on October 29, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisation (VUFO) Vu Xuan Hong expressed thanks to the foundation for its help to Vietnamese disadvantaged pupils and students.
He said the assistance contribute to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the RoK.
The foundation’s President Philip Choi affirmed that his foundation will continue similar activities in the coming time.
Established in 1962, the foundation provides scholarships to Korean disadvantaged pupils and students.
Vietnam is the only foreign country to receive assistances from the foundation.-VNA
