The second phase of the Enhancement of French in Southeast Asia project is expected to popularise French language training for young people in the region.
An agreement to this effect was signed by Administrator of the International Francophone Organisation (OIF) Clement Duhaime and representatives from Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Wallonia – Brussels, Canadian state of Quebec, France, and Francophone University Agency in Hanoi on Jan. 10.
Initiated by Cambodian, Lao and Vietnamese ministries of education and training in 2006, the agreement is part of a strategy to popularise French language and diversify cultures and languages among OIF member countries.
The first phase of the six-year project (2006-2011) helped enhance universities and educational foundations’ capacity in carrying out French language-related courses with the improvement of lecturers and students in both quality and quantity./.
